Last week, Sherborne Schools' Combined Cadet Force (CCF) underwent its Biennial Inspection at Sherborne School, led by Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major Tamara W.
The event showcased the dedication and discipline of the cadets, emphasising their commitment to excellence in military training. Such events not only honour tradition but also prepare pupils for responsibilities beyond school, instilling values of leadership and service within the Sherborne community.
Rob Le Poidevin, CCF Contingent Commander commented: "We were thrilled to have Major General Nick Perry DSO MBE as out Inspecting Officer and the cadets really rose to the occasion. He was able to see them march and carry out training on Carey's including a Field Gun demonstration by our Royal Navy section, the storming of a building by our Fifth Form cadets and excellent fieldcraft lessons delivered by our Sixth Form in our Royal Marine and Army sections."
A dinner for Sixth Form Cadets drew the inspection to a close with the guest of honour, General Perry, delivering an inspirational speech to our boys and girls.
The CCF is just one of the joint co-curricular activities on offer to pupils from Sherborne Schools and is testament to the benefits of this shared learning outside of the classroom.
