Sunday 24 April brought the annual Higher Education Forum; an opportunity for Lower Sixth boys, and their parents, to learn more about opportunities in the Higher Education (HE) and post-18 employment sectors.
Mike Nicholson, Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions at the University of Bath, the Keynote speaker, informed and entertained, explaining each aspect of the UCAS application procedure and, in particular, how to make a Personal Statement “stand out”.
At the end of this more formal part of the evening, parents and boys attended the HE Fair, where representatives from 36 different UK and overseas universities, including admissions’ staff, recent OS and members of the teaching and Careers Department staff, took stands to answer questions and offer advice.
The HE Forum drew much positive feedback from parents, boys, and delegates alike and clearly acted as an excellent catalyst for the Lower Sixth in researching their post-Sherborne life.
