This year seven of our boys took part in the Pink/Grey Kangaroo after winning their Gold certificates in the 2018 Intermediate Mathematics Challenge (IMO). We are delighted to share the news that Jack Wang (3e), Aaron Kim (5b) and Sam Reynolds (5c) have all obtained a merit, making them the top 25% of a total of 10,308 participants in the UK.

Kangourou Sans Frontières (KSF) is an independent association, whose purpose is to organise the annual Kangaroo contest with the aim of promoting mathematics among young people around the world. Each year over six million school pupils aged 5-18 from more than 50 countries throughout the world take part at various levels.

Kai Miles (4d), who also won a Gold in his IMO, was invited to sit the Hamilton Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad. We could not be prouder that he also came away with a Merit Certificate this year, making him the top 25% of the UK Mathematicians in his age group.

Many congratulations to all the boys!

Mr Siew-Chiang Lim
Head of Mathematics
