Golfing Success

Congratulations to Upper Sixth Former Theo Anderson-Gannon (U6e) for his golfing successes over the summer. Theo played for the Somerset Men's 1st team and also in various major golf tournaments. Theo shares his experiences below:

"It has been a busy golf season.  I have played in numerous County Matches for both Somerset U18 and the Men's First Team.  The highlight was coming third place in the South West Counties U18 at 'The Players' in Gloucestershire in early July.  This was followed by fifth place in South of England Boys Open.  I was pleased  (and a bit amazed too) to get through as a Qualifier into the most prestigious International U18 event - the R & A Boy's Amateur held this year at Fulford & Ganton in Yorkshire. I was playing well with a couple of 71's on the scoreboard and looking promising, but then found a very deep bunker in the next round and didn't make it to the final stages.  It was an incredible experience though.  My best score of the season was just last Thursday with a 67 (4 under par) in the Men's West of England at Burnham & Berrow."
