Hybrid Learning in Geography

At the start of the Trinity Term, the Third Form commenced their GCSE course which began with the Tri-Cellular model, one of the more challenging elements of the course.

Using the hybrid approach, the boys created models using pen, paper, glue and scissors, whilst watching a video of how the Tri-Cellular model works on YouTube, pausing at the key points. The boys then used their phones to create their own videos with narrations explaining their newly made models. These were then uploaded onto a collaboration space in OneNote (a digital folder) where all boys could view each other’s videos, providing opportunities for peer assessment. Finally, they uploaded a photo of their finished model using the OneNote app to store it ready for revision. This is just one example of how we are trying to ensure we make good use of the devices, whilst remembering that traditional methods of teaching and learning are still highly effective.
