The first Friday lunchtime recital of the new school year got off to a superb start with a performance by the Wind Quintet - music scholars Cassian Blackburn-Enever (L6e), George Jefferson (L6e), George Lewis (L6d), Nathanael Fagerson (Lc6) and Benedict Mercer (L6b), with a performance of The Italian Girl in Algiers, by Rossini. Solo performances were then given by Bentley Creswell (U6a), Henry Le Cornu (L6f), Hector Fiennes (U6a) and Tom McCaig (Exh.Mus U6b) in a programme which included Schubert’s Du bust die Ruh, Schumann’s Dichterliebe op 48 1-3, Bach’s Mache such, mein Herze, rein and the Ragtime from Richard Rodney Bennett’s Three Piece Suite.
