Getting Practical in Biology

After some stellar results in the summer, we soon got back into the groove of ‘normal’ rather than ‘remote’ teaching – something which we were all pleased about. The ability to undertake practical work in Biology is so important and something which the boys really enjoy – to have that element largely removed last year was challenging for us all. We once again welcome Jonathan Wilson to the Department, since it was he who covered Dr Jeremy Wadham during his sabbatical last term. He is mainly based in Learning Support, but manages to escape to the Turing Laboratories too.

The Fifth and Sixth Form boys have been working hard to prepare for their forthcoming exams and the new Third Formers have used their Surface Pro devices to complete work within OneNote remarkably well. It’s also competition time within the Department, since both an essay and photography competition have been launched, the deadline for which is after the first Exeat in the Lent Term.

The Department has also been heavily involved with the preparation of our Oxbridge candidates who have been given regular mock interviews to aid in their preparation for either Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Natural Sciences or Biology. We wish them the best of luck in the coming weeks.
