The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award has seen another successful term as we start heading into warmer weather and with it, more expeditions. The 170 new participants have been working hard on their activities for their different sections of the award, participating in many activities that the School offers from sport and games to music and the Sherborne Abbey.

The Gold Joint School Canoeing Practice Expedition ran over the Exeat weekend and was a great success despite the tempestuous weather and conditions. The boys and girls completed canoeing training and a practice expedition in preparation for their qualifying expedition in Scotland in July. Over the first week of the Easter holidays, we will have the Gold Walking Practice Expedition with Sherborne Girls in Snowdonia, Wales, as well as the Silver Practice and Qualifying Expedition which will run for the Fourth Form participants in Devon.

Well done to Ollie Culver (U6c) and Max Fowle (U6c) for completing their Gold Award this term, with Max having now completed all three levels, Gold, Silver and Bronze, while at Sherborne.

We also had 15 boys complete their Bronze Award and six boys complete their Silver Award this term.

Thank you to everyone who supports the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and our trips. Well done to all our boys on expeditions.
