In recognition of achieving the world record for the youngest person to fly solo around the world, Mack Rutherford has been awarded The Master’s Medal for 2022 by the Honourable Company of Air Pilots. This award is the Honourable Company’s highest accolade, it is a huge achievement to have attained this at such a young age.

The Master’ Medal is awarded to ‘any person in aviation, at any time, for an act other achievement in aviation considered worthy of the Medal, as soon the facts of the event are clear’ and the recipient is specially chosen at the discretion of the Master. Past recipients include Tim Peake CMG and Captain John Testrake.

As stated by Headmaster Dominic Luckett, “we could not be more proud of Mack for achieving this accolade and demonstrating such skill, commitment, resilience and courage through his epic feat of airmanship”.

Mack has been invited to accept his award in October at the Trophies and Awards Banquet in London as a guest of the Company.
