September 21st 2018
The 21st September marks International Day of Peace, a day globally shared to commit to peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of peace. Our boys have been reflecting on the meaning of peace this week, with a focus on the declaration of human rights.
The entire Sherborne Community has shown their support by taking part in the Peace Crane Project, founded in 2013, at the request of the United Nations International Day of Peace NGO, in order to promote world peace. Over one million children are estimated to have taken part in the project.
After putting our origami skills to the test, these carefully folded birds were placed in the School’s Chapel amongst the names of Old Shirburnians, who lost their lives striving for a safer and more peaceful world.
