Ten Tours Training

Ten Tors training turned to Dartmoor on Sunday, as 21 boys and 6 staff spent Sunday exploring a section of the south-east moor. The weather was glorious, with clear blue skies, but a fresh northerly breeze reminded us that it was winter.

The boys were split into smaller groups and then each group put into practice some skills and knowledge that they had acquired on previous weekends and during their Saturday night training - hazard recognition and avoidance, river crossings, navigation skills, route choice and decision-making.

We hope to have three 35-mile teams to enter into this year’s CCF event: a team from Lyon House and two CCF teams. The next training is in February when we will be camping out ... better dig out that warm sleeping bag and long johns!
